Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the importance of mastering artificial intelligence for future career success, stating that the ability to effectively use AI tools is essential across all professions.

In a January episode of the “Huge Conversations” show with Cleo Abram, Huang said, “The first thing I would do is to learn AI,” referencing platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini Pro, and Grok. He compared prompting AI to the skill of asking effective questions, noting that clear, well-structured input is crucial to obtaining useful responses.

“Prompting AI is very similar. You can’t just randomly ask a bunch of questions. Asking AI to be an assistant to you requires some expertise and artistry of how to prompt it,” Huang explained.
To illustrate, he offered an analogy: a vague question like “Tell me about your business?” can be confusing, whereas a specific query such as “Can you explain the first steps to launching an online retail business?” yields better answers. He encouraged students to adopt the same precision when interacting with AI.
Kelly Daniel, prompt director at Lazarus AI, echoed this guidance in a February article for CNBC Make It, writing, “You’re talking to a smart kid… They’re limited by their lack of context and previous experience, and it’s your job to provide that context.”

According to a 2024 report by the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Common Sense Media, and Hopelab, only 11% of Americans aged 14 to 22 currently use generative AI weekly. However, LinkedIn’s 2025 Work Change report projects that 70% of job skills could be affected by AI by 2030.
Huang concluded, “Doesn’t matter what field of science I’m going into or what profession — I’m going to ask myself, ‘How can I use AI to do my job better?’”
