Victoria Beckham Says She Maintained Strict Eating Habits in Her 30s — and Her Favorite Foods Reflect a Well-Known Heart-Healthy Diet
Victoria Beckham, fashion designer and former member of the Spice Girls, has maintained a consistent and disciplined approach to her diet over the years. She has spoken about her habits as far back as 2008. At the time, Beckham described herself as “quite disciplined” about food. Her long-standing eating habits have changed very little since then. They continue to reflect many of the core principles of the Mediterranean diet. This eating pattern is widely praised for its heart-health benefits.

“I do try to be quite disciplined in the way that I eat,” Beckham said during an appearance on BBC’s Gordon Ramsay’s Perfect Christmas Lunch in 2008, when she was 32. “I eat really healthy, I love Japanese food, lots of fish, any sort of fish, any sort of vegetable, lots of fruit, that kind of thing.”
Over the years, Beckham’s meals have remained centered around three key components: fish, vegetables and fruit. Although she has since reduced her fruit intake, she continues to eat “lots of fresh fish, fresh vegetables and salads, as well as seeds and nuts,” she told Net-A-Porter in a 2020 interview.

Beckham’s diet closely mirrors the Mediterranean diet, which was named the No. 1 Best Diet for 2025 by U.S. News & World Report. The largely plant-based plan emphasizes vegetables, fruits, nuts, fish, whole grains, beans, poultry and healthy fats, while limiting processed foods, red meat and sweets. Research has linked the diet to a lower risk of heart disease and Type 2 diabetes.
While Beckham’s eating habits remain health-focused, she also embraces flexibility. She starts most mornings with a green juice made from vegetables, fruit and ginger but allows herself the occasional indulgence. “I’m flexible with regards to food, as David and I are very sociable, and we like to eat out,” she said. “My treat is a few glasses of red wine, and I also love tequila, and I do eat carbs. I have lots of avocado and really good fats, like salmon.”
