Longevity Doctor Shares Daily Habits for a Longer, Healthier Life

Dr. Avinish Reddy, a physician specializing in longevity medicine, says living a longer, healthier life “doesn’t have to be that complicated.” Since 2022, Reddy has dedicated his medical practice to helping patients build daily habits that support long-term health.

In July 2024, Reddy launched Elevated Medical, a clinic focused on holistic health strategies. “I make sure my patients feel supported and track everything that I feel needs to be tracked daily,” Reddy told CNBC Make It.

His approach is divided into four core areas: medicine, exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle. The clinic conducts labs and imaging, connects patients with fitness trainers and nutritionists, and emphasizes areas such as stress, sleep, emotional well-being, and relationships.

Reddy practices what he prescribes. His fitness routine includes six weekly workouts: three days of strength training and three of cardiovascular training, including high-intensity intervals aimed at increasing VO2 Max, which he notes is linked to longevity.

To support brain health, Reddy takes omega-3 and B-vitamin supplements, and engages in sports that require hand-eye coordination, such as ping pong and pickleball. “Regular exercise reduces the risk of dementia,” he said.

He also prioritizes social connection, citing a long-running Harvard study showing strong relationships correlate with happiness and longevity. Reddy maintains regular contact with his parents and college friends and participates in community activities like basketball leagues.

On the nutrition front, Reddy focuses on increasing vegetable intake. He also uses a continuous glucose monitor annually to track how foods affect his blood sugar.

“Longevity doesn’t have to be that complicated,” Reddy said. “It’s about consistency in sleep, exercise, and diet—while still making time to create memories.”
