Since a personal health scare in 2016, Young has committed himself to studying and investing in longevity technologies. At the time, his doctor recommended a lifelong cholesterol medication regimen. “I said, ‘No problem. Is it just for one month or two months or three?’ He said, ‘No, no, no. You don’t get it. Every day for the rest of your life,’” Young recalled.

Motivated by this turning point, Young, now 53, began investing in healthspan-extending technologies. In 2019, he launched a longevity-focused fund, and in 2023, co-founded the BOLD Longevity Growth Fund, which evaluates around 200 companies annually to invest in five.
Young incorporates his research into his own lifestyle. He cites five key areas: annual medical screenings, avoiding risky behaviors, caloric restriction through intermittent fasting, regular physical activity including strength training, and prioritizing mental health.
“My rule is every day, I spend an hour in the morning dedicated to physical activity. Plus I do 10,000 steps a day,” he said. He also practices meditation, uses sleep-tracking tools, and seeks daily peace of mind. “Happiness and proper attention to mental health is super important.”

Young’s diet focuses on organic proteins, cruciferous and fermented vegetables, and healthy oils like olive and avocado, while avoiding sugary foods. “Given my chronological age of 53, I couldn’t really afford to eat as many sweet products as I want,” he said.
For social well-being, Young spends evenings with his children and maintains weekly in-person connections. “It actually brings a lot of joy and happiness to my life,” he noted.
He is currently reading Longevity Guidebook by Peter Diamandis, reflecting his ongoing commitment to what he describes as “total immersion” in the field.
